From a community newsletter:
Our goal is for every locally owned independent business to be listed and for every local who cares about our community to have a card. Is that a crazy dream? No, because WE ARE ASHEVILLE and we can do this.
The new deadline to get listed in 45,000 copies of the Go Local print directory is Friday November 7th. Your business will also be included in our soon to be launched, new directory-driven website. Card sales start Dec. 1.
This powerful little card helps build a resilient local economy, expands regional supply chains and strengthens public education. We know that Asheville is a unique and attractive place and through the work of our partner organizations: Asheville City Schools, Mountain BizWorks, Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR), AB Tech’s Small Business Incubator, Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP), Just Economics and WNC Green Building Council.
We need to be mindful of how we grow our economy and must work to protect and build our greatest resources. Our organization provides this service for FREE. If you have a locally owned, independent business, please use it! If you support the movement, please spread the word in your networks and to your favorite locally owned businesses.
For more information or to join the network free of charge, visit ashevillegrown.org.

The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community.
