About 40 friends, family and fans greeted cyclist Lauren Tomayo when she returned to Asheville yesterday, Aug. 13. A member of the U.S. Cycling Team, Tomayo earned a silver medal at the Olympics.
“Lauren Tamayo is still trying to process the feeling of being an Olympic silver medalist — and the attention that comes with it.
She received a hero’s welcome Monday afternoon at Asheville Regional Airport, as about 40 or so family, friends and others applauded her when she walked through the airport,” Romando Dixon, Asheville Citizen-Times reported.
