Wood & Spoon announces holiday and moving sale
We are pleased and excited to be hosting a tasting party for OWL Bakery from 2-6 on Saturday the 13th! We’ll have samples to nibble, hot mulled cider, Noble Cider on tap (yay!), and breads, cookies, and other treats & edible gifts for sale.
As we wrap up another year and take a look at where we’ve been and where we’re headed, we’ve decided that this will be our last month at 227 Haywood Road. We have loved having our sweet shop but we have determined that the long retail hours take us away from other earning endeavors that better suit our new family dynamic. We had always planned to keep a foot in the door with other work but with our newest job as parents, it is one job too many to maintain a brick and mortar store front. Mark will be taking his zipline and building skills to the next level by developing a new business plan involving swings, trees and other custom wood craft. Carrie-Welles is excited to be back in the saddle with her long-time real estate career and has joined up with the fabulous team at Mosaic Community Lifestyles Realty. She also looks forward to having some extra time to bounce sweet Baby Burl. While this news seems a bit bitter sweet, we feel great about the time we had in the shop. We are also getting very excited to have the flexibility again to rock on like the free birds we truly are at heart!
But fear not! Wood & Spoon will rise again! After some traveling, we plan to either set up a booth some where or host pop-up shops with our fabulous finds. We are also considering setting up an on-line store. So stay tuned, we will resurface with new, old treasure and handmade wood craft!
We are sure you are all wondering what is next for 227 Haywood with its grand ceiling and magic windows. Short Street Cakes is gearing up for an expansion and plans use the space to continue to grow their booming business! Congrats to Jodi and the gang!
