McHenry: Keever will bring more gridlock

Here’s the press release from the campaign of 10th Congressional District Republican incumbent Rep. Patrick McHenry, who’s facing a challenge this year from Democrat Patsy Keever:

Gastonia, NC – Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement regarding Representative Patsy Keever’s repeated failure to identify a single area she would be willing to compromise and work across the aisle if elected to Congress:

“Our nation faces serious problems and it needs serious leaders to address them,” said Congressman McHenry. “I don’t often see eye to eye with my liberal colleagues, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t found areas to work with them. I have worked with the President to support public charter schools and school choice, while my opponent has consistently voted against these efforts at improving education. I was also proud to have the support of 238 Republicans and 169 Democrats for my crowdfunding legislation to help small businesses create more jobs. I’m committed to finding serious solutions to the problems facing our country. With such critical issues ahead, it is sad that my opponent is putting her extreme liberal ideology above the good of our nation.”

Keever’s Failure to Compromise –

· In an interview with Representative Keever, the Carolina Journal reported that “When asked to discuss a compromise she is willing to make, Keever declined.”

· During a debate hosted by WLOS in Asheville, Representative Keever again failed to communicate a single area she would be willing to compromise. When pushed by WLOS reporter Russ Bowen, Keever sarcastically responded that she would support RomneyCare.
