Here’s the press release from MoveOn:
MoveOn members to join candlelight vigil calling on Senator Richard Burr to stop holding the middle class hostage over tax cuts for the wealthy, prevent a $2k middle-class tax increase
On Monday, December 10, Asheville-area MoveOn members will join a candlelight vigil hosted by the Western North Carolina Central Labor Council/AFL-CIO in front of the local office of Senator Richard Burr, calling on him to stop threatening the middle class with a two-thousand-dollar tax increase.
Republicans are holding the middle class hostage during the fiscal negotiations in exchange for continuing a tax break for millionaires and billionaires. On Monday, MoveOn members will gather in front of congressional offices around the country to make sure their representatives know that middle-class taxes must stay low and there must be no further extension of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%.
