Asheville was named No. 10 in a top-12 list of music cities in the U.S. The list was compiled by Thrillist.com. Among the reasons for the accolade: “Venues run the gamut from smaller stages like The Grey Eagle, The Mothlight, and The Odditorium, to the nationally renowned Orange Peel, which has hosted performances by everyone from Bob Dylan to Skrillex.” OK, so nothing locals don’t already know — and no mention of our incredible stable of local bands — but it’s still nice to be included, especially among heavy hitters like Nashville, New Orleans and Austin, Tex.
