The annual Blue Jean Ball held by MANNA FoodBank will be on Saturday, June 6. The event will be at the MANNA campus near the Swannanoa River and will include a series of 10 local musical guests. Food will be catered by Biscuit Head, Chestnut, Cantina at Biltmore Village, Rosetta’s Kitchen and Buchi bar, Tupelo Honey café, Ultimate Ice Cream and more. This is a fundraising event sponsored by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort to provide food to counties in Western North Carolina.

MANNA FoodBank will hold the annual Blue Jean Ball on Saturday, June 6th from 7 to 11 p.m. The event, presented by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, is held on the MANNA campus on the banks of the Swannanoa River.
The theme of the ball this year is “Bowl Full of Soul”, a reference not just to the music and food, but also to the 7,500 volunteers that donate their heart and soul to MANNA with over 66,000 hours of donated time in 2014.
The musical entertainment this year includes 10 local performers united specifically for the purpose of playing soul music at the Blue Jean Ball. The band calling itself the Bread & Jam All Stars with vocalists Sirens of Soul is being organized with the help of
Jessica Tomasin of Echo Mountain Studios and Michael Selverne of Bread & Jam.The party kicks off with duo Jason DeCristofaro and Mike Holstein followed by the Bread & Jam All Stars with the Sirens of Soul.
This powerhouse group of talented musicians was specifically recruited for the purpose of playing the Blue Jean Ball and talent includes: Kat Williams, River Guerguerian, Eli Kramer, Josh Blake, Marcel Anton, Michael Selverne, Indigo De Souza, Ryan Burns, Greg Hollowell, Kyle Snuffer, Rhoda Weaver and special guest Chuck Beattie.Additional entertainment includes a high energy choreographed dance piece by Christine Garvin & Diana McCall with additional music selected by DJ Adam Strange. A Silent Auction and Photo Booth with soul inspired costume pieces will help those who decide not to channel their inner back- up singer when choosing their outfits for the ball. There will be a SOUL TRAIN inspired dance contest and prizes for most
“Soulful” attire.Guests will enjoy small tasting plates from over twenty of Asheville’s finest restaurants and bakers- including the Asheville French Quarter. Biltmore, Biscuit Head, Chestnut, Cantina at Biltmore Village, Corner Kitchen, Old Europe French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, Isa’s Bistro, the LAB, Lobster Trap, Posana Café, Red Stag Grill, Rosetta’s Kitchen and Buchi bar, Tupelo Honey café, Ultimate Ice Cream and more. A varied selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are also included.

The Blue Jean Ball is MANNA’s largest annual fundraising event. Every dollar raised or donated to the food bank provides enough food for 3 meals. Current estimates in our region indicate that 107,600 people in Western North Carolina sought food assistance last year. MANNA partners with 248 agencies throughout our region to get food to those facing hunger. In 2014, MANNA distributed 15 million pounds, or enough food to provide 34,000 meals a day throughout the 16 counties in WNC.
