Manufacturer becomes sponsor for local Boy Scout area

Press release from Diamond Brand Manufacturing:

Diamond Brand Manufacturing, a trusted supplier of tents and other canvas products to the Boy Scouts of America for more than 80 years, announced today that it would serve as sponsor of the new “Goin Great” area at Camp Daniel Boone in Asheville. “Goin Great” is at the heart of teaching responsible enjoyment of the outdoors, as it serves as the epicenter for local Boy Scouts honing their skills that eventually earn them merit badges – such as the one awarded for tying specialized knots. In addition, the “Goin Great” area also serves as the unofficial welcome center to visitors.

Improvements to “Goin Great” include updated buildings, new signage, shade shelters and meticulous landscaping of the grounds, all combined to create an overall better aesthetic experience for scouts, volunteers and visitors. To fund the “Goin Great” makeover, Diamond Brand will contribute more than $47,0000 in products and services (including nearly $30,000 in tents and frames) to the Daniel Boone Council.

“Diamond Brand is a tremendous partner of the Boy Scouts of America and the Daniel Boone Council,” said Josh Christ, Scout Executive/CEO for the Daniel Boone Council. “It’s a great company that puts out great products. We have received rave reviews from Scouts and leaders from across the country this summer about the new tents and frames they provided for Camp
Daniel Boone. They have been a very dedicated partner of the council for a long time and their support has helped us keep the character and leadership development programs of Scouting strong and growing in Western North Carolina. We are extremely grateful to Diamond Brand, their CEO, Will Gay and his entire staff for all they do.”

Diamond Brand Manufacturing has a proud heritage of working with Boy Scouts of America, and as a result, has been a tremendous supporter of the Daniel Boone Council. In addition to the “Goin Great” sponsorship, Diamond Brand routinely invests nearly $20,000 annually in combined cash donations, discounts and event sponsorships to support Western North Carolina’s Boy Scouts.

“We are delighted to maintain our 82-year history with the Boy Scouts of America as a trusted provider of shelter for their scouts and staff,” said Will Gay, President & Owner – Diamond Brand. ”We recognize all the good that scouts do in our community and the valuable lessons they teach about responsible enjoyment of the outdoors, so we are honored to continue to support our local council in a variety of ways. “
