Through July 1 – August 31, Asheville Habitat ReStore will hold its fourth annual ReStore ReUse Contest for innovative building projects constructed predominantly of used building materials.
“Our customers often tell us about the projects they make using materials purchased at the ReStore, ” ReStore Manager Scott Stetson said. “This contest is a great way to showcase their projects and inspire others to reuse, recycle and repurpose usable building materials and supplies.”
Five judges will select winners in the following categories: Furniture, Homesteading, Live/Work Space, and Best in Show.The public will be encouraged to vote for their favorite entry (People’s Choice Award) in the ReStore and on-line from September 4-18, with details announced later this summer.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (June 23, 2015) – The Asheville Habitat ReStore at 31 Meadow Road near Biltmore Village announces its fourth annual ReStore ReUse Contest. Garden shed, artist studio, chicken coop…tree house, dog house, playhouse…if you recently builta structure like this using predominantly reused building materials, the Habitat ReStore encourages you to enter the ReStore ReUse Contest. Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity has operated a retail store since 1990. Located at 31 Meadow Road near Biltmore Village, ReStore proceeds help cover Asheville Area Habitat’s administrative and
fundraising expenses and support Habitat’s home building and repair programs. With sustaining funding from the ReStore, Asheville Area Habitat has helped 272 families secure safe, decent Green Built NC certified homes.
