ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 18, 2013) – Mission Health announced today that Lynn Boggs, MBA, MSN, RN, President and CEO of McDowell Hospital, has been promoted to the role of Senior Vice President, System Operations, for Mission Health, while remaining president and CEO of McDowell Hospital.
A proficient health care executive with more than 35 years in the industry, Boggs’ new role will allow her to draw on her proven leadership abilities and extensive experience in the North Carolina health care market to help guide Mission Health into the future.
“In a very short period of time, Lynn has successfully led McDowell Hospital, improving quality, patient satisfaction and sustainability, which are key to achieving our BIG (GER) Aim,” said Jill Hoggard Green, PhD, RN, COO of Mission Health and President of Mission Hospital. “With her creativity, energy and knowledge, she will help us create an innovative network of care. This is an excellent example of redesigning and extending our leadership team to even more effectively achieve our BIG (GER) Aim in a cost effective manner.”
Boggs will continue to lead McDowell Hospital and will expand her responsibilities to partner with presidents of Mission Health’s member hospitals and Mission Medical Associates, as well as develop new services in the eastern counties of Mission Health’s service area. She will also initiate system-wide clinical contracts and services that will support a clinically integrated regional network of care.

Boggs is a registered nurse who holds master’s degrees in business and nursing administration, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She has led McDowell Hospital since early 2012.
Prior to joining Mission Health, Boggs served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer, SSM, overseeing the operations of three SSM Hospitals in St. Louis, Mo. Before joining SSM, Boggs held numerous leadership roles with Novant Health System including, president, Presbyterian Hospital, and corporate senior vice president, Novant Health. Boggs started her administrative career as the director of Emergency/Trauma program in the Greenville Hospital System in South Carolina,
