A Tribute to Barbra Streisand at Asheville Community Theatre on Nov. 1

Vocalist Valerie Sneade, who has been compared to Liza Minnelli and Bette Midler, takes on another diva: Babs. “A Tribute to Barbra Streisand,” which has its local debut at Asheville Community Theatre, was first staged in 2000. The show has already received raves in Bay Windows and Edge Magazine. According to a press release, songs celebrated in A Tribute to Barbra Streisand include “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “Evergreen,” “The Way We Were,” “A Piece of Sky,” “Second Hand Rose,” “Happy Days Are Here Again,” “People” and many more.

“A Tribute to Barbra Streisand” takes place on Friday, Nov. 1. 7:30 p.m., $19. Tickets at ashevilletheatre.org, by phone at 254-1320 or in person at the Asheville Community Theatre Box Office located at 35 East Walnut St.
