Conscious Aging workshops at One Center Yoga, March 26 and April 1-3

From a press release:

Join Jacki Browne, Ph.D., L.C.S.W., on Saturday, March 26, from 10:30am-12:30pm, for Resilient Aging: An Introduction. This hands-on 2-hour session includes some gentle stretching and exploring how graceful aging is graceful living. Come explore how to embrace aging with meaning and vitality.

On April 1-3, 2016, join Gabriel Halpern for a weekend workshop entitled Yoga & Conscious Aging, a skillful combination of inspiring yoga philosophy and mindful asana practice.

Both workshops, although geared for mature adults, are relevant to people of all ages and yoga students of all levels.

According to Jacki, “Being resilient doesn’t mean we don’t experience difficulty and stress, but it does mean we can ‘bounce back.’ Resilience is an essential trait as we age, especially in our culture, where aging has become something to fear and battle. But actually, graceful aging is graceful living.”

In her interactive workshop, participants will learn to:

  •  Identify their most common unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and memories
  •  Practice getting “unstuck” from negative habits and stories
  •  Get more in touch with their core values
  •  Develop concrete steps to live them from a place of resilience

Cost: $30 early registration, $35 day of event.

Jacki Browne directs Nova Southeastern University’s Master of Arts in Gerontology program. She has been the recipient of several university grants. Her research interests are in aging and resilience. She maintains a private psychotherapy practice and does presentations and workshops in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Asheville, North Carolina.

On April 1-3 join Gabriel Halpern for an inspiring exploration of how yoga leads to conscious aging.

As Gabriel explains: “There is no better way to rejuvenate the body and mind than with yoga. When we increase circulation and oxygenation, we invite youthfulness in demeanor and elegance in movement to become our traveling companions. Awareness of the seasons of life can quicken decisions about how to live more fully and mentor the coming generations.”

Recently named one of the 100 Most Influential Yoga Teachers in the U.S., Gabriel Halpern has been practicing yoga, philosophy, and life skills for more than 40 years. He holds degrees in philosophy and health psychology, and is a long-time member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Early bird pricing for Gabriel’s workshop is $250, if paid by March 18. Thereafter, the cost is $275 for the entire workshop. Individual session pricing is available. Visit onecenteryoga.com for details, or call 828-225-1904.
