MLK Association accepting nominations for youth scholarships

Press release from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Asheville and Buncombe County, Inc.:

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Asheville and Buncombe County, Inc. is accepting nominations for its annual Youth Scholarship program. MLK Youth Scholarships have been awarded to graduating high school seniors from Buncombe County to underwrite their college costs at public and private colleges across North Carolina.

Nominations can be made by teachers, guidance counselors, and other school personnel; pastors and church leaders; community groups, and private individuals. Applications are available online at www.mlkassociation.org or by contacting Chairperson Oralene Simmons at 828-281-1624 or by email at ogsimmons@att.net. The deadline for returning nominations is May 6, 2016.
