Metro Wines hosts benefit for greenway advocacy group Friends of Connect Buncombe

Please join us [at Metro Wines on Charlotte Street] for a BENEFIT to support Friends of Connect Buncombe (http://www.weconnectbuncombe.org/about) on Tuesday, June 2nd from 5:30 to 7pm. $15 at the door to support their good. Your ticket includes a glass of wine!
Friends of Buncombe County will be hosting the release of their new video by BClip Productions
Friends of Buncombe County is a nonprofit formed for the purpose of advocating and raising funds for the implementation and construction of greenways and trails in Buncombe County. The goal is to construct a system of connected trails for public use and to foster and promote tourism and economic development, health, recreation, diverse and safe transportation options, sustainability and connect with the community and cultural heritage and beauty of Buncombe County. The Greenways and Trails Master Plan was adopted by the County Commission in September but has not been funded.
Any bottle of ConoSur Cabernet Sauvignon and ConoSur Sauvignon Blanc that you buy during the month of June sends 10% of the proceeds to Friends of Connect Buncombe County.

  • Greenways promote outdoor recreation for families and individuals at all ability levels, all economic levels and all age levels,
  • Greenways promote healthy lifestyles and help reduce obesity through exercise,
  • Greenways provide alternative transportation infrastructure, 
  • and existing greenways encourage economic development for businesses looking for an area with excellent quality of life.
We will work toward our mission by: 
  • educating about the benefits of greenways, 
  • advocating for greenways with elected officials, DOT officials and other non-profits, 
  • and raising money for planning and/or construction projects which are included in the Master Plan.
