APD asks for help in identifying robbery suspect

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville, NC (August 4, 2016): At approximately 5:00 p.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at SunTrust Bank, 700 Haywood Road. The suspect entered the bank and demanded payment in large bills. He did not display a weapon and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male dressed in blue jean overalls, a gray shirt and wearing work gloves, a black scarf wrapped around his face and aviator sunglasses.

If anyone has any information regarding the identity of the suspect they are encouraged to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110 or Buncombe County Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050.
