Press release from Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity:
There’s still plenty of time to enter the Habitat ReStore’s ReUse Contest, a local showcase of projects constructed predominantly from reused materials. Submissions are being accepted electronically at ashevillehabitat.org until midnight August 31, 2018.
Past projects have run the gamut from small tabletop items and wall décor to artist studios and tiny homes. The majority are medium sized and include furniture, yard art, planters, chicken coops, little free libraries, sheds, and more.
In September, five judges will select winners in the following categories: Best in Show, Furniture, Homesteading, Live/Work Space, Home Décor and Youth (age 16 and under). “We typically receive 30-35 entries. This year we’re hoping to hit 50,” said ReStore General Manager Scott Stetson.
