Press release from the Asheville Police Department:
On Saturday, Sept. 8 at approximately 3:52 a.m., the Asheville Police Department received reports of a gun discharge in the area of Clingman and Hilliard Avenues. A victim suffering from gunshot wounds was located within a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the Jeff Bowen Bridge. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital with critical injuries.
