Press release from Slow Money NC:
On Saturday, February 23, 2019 Slow Money NC will host a lively gathering of local farmers, food entrepreneurs and people who care about sustainable farming and food. Come meet up with folks who care about where our food comes from, join in the fun and learn how you can be part of it all!
Slow Money NC connects local, sustainable farmers & local food entrepreneurs with people who know how important these businesses are to our community. Since 2010, Slow Money NC has helped more than 220 people make 320+ low-interest loans and equity investments to finance 120 sustainable farms and food enterprises in North Carolina, totaling over $4.5 million in investments! That’s a lot of local food and wages, happy people, and fertile soil. We have shifted hundreds of hearts and minds from their paradigm of faraway investing to satisfying and critically important local community lending.
Wedge is a neighborhood brewery with two locations in the heart of Asheville’s River Arts District. Wedge at Foundation is located a mile upstream from Wedge Studios. This historic building was constructed in 1898 and is known today for being the home to large graffiti murals. Wedge serves as a gathering place for people of all ages and walks of life to laugh, exchange ideas and drink Wedge beer. Wedge is a community crafted by the people of Asheville.
If you have a farm or food business and would like to present your project that needs capital, please contact slowmoneync@gmail.com.
We can create a more thoughtful, healthy, resilient local food economy! Join Slow Money NC on February 23 to learn more!
