Asheville, NC (October 3, 2019): The Asheville Police Department is investigating the possible connection between three shootings that occurred yesterday in the area of Fayetteville Street in West Asheville.The first shooting was reported yesterday at approximately 1:30 p.m. The victim was located in the area of Haywood Road and I-240. They were transported to Mission Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. We are investigating the possibility that this shooting is connected to the later shootings on Fayetteville Street.The second shooting was reported at approximately 11:00 p.m. APD received reports of multiple gun discharges near the intersection of Fayetteville and Edgar Streets. Upon arrival officers located several shell casings. Two victims were identified, both were transported to Mission Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.While investigating the 11:00 p.m. shooting, APD received reports of a gun discharge in the area of Deaverview Road. Officers arrived to find evidence that a shooting had occurred. They were treated with non-life threatening injuries.These incidents are under investigation by the Asheville Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit.
