Press release from the city of Hendersonville:
The City of Hendersonville is reminding utility customers who are overdue on their bills to sign up for a payment plan before September 30, 2020, to avoid late fees and disconnection.“We have provided our utility customers the opportunity to pay off their past due amounts through a COVID-19 temporary payment plan,” said City Manager John Connet. “Our customer service team is ready to assist, but they can only provide help if residents take advantage of the program and sign up.”City Manager Connet explained that 49 customers with past-due amounts have applied for a payment plan. More than 1,000 customers with delinquencies have not taken that step. If the owners of the accounts do not complete a payment agreement, Hendersonville Water and Sewer will begin reinstating late fees or be forced to begin the process of disconnecting service. The payment plan application is online at www.hendersonvillenc.gov/paymybill and can also be set up over the phone at (828) 697-3052 or at the payment window in City Hall located at 160 6th Avenue East. Visitors to City Hall are reminded to practice the 3 W’s by wearing a cloth face covering, waiting six feet apart, and washing or using hand sanitizer often.Throughout the month of September, customer service representatives are contacting customers with outstanding balances directly by letter and by phone. Individuals who wish to assist with customers’ delinquent utility bills may contact customer service at (828) 697-3052 to contribute.
