2021 property value notices mailed to Buncombe County business owners

Business owners in Buncombe County can expect to begin receiving their notice of value for tax year 2021 for business personal property, early next week. The Office of the Property Assessor is scheduled to begin mailing notices on Tuesday, March 9, for those businesses who have submitted their listing sheets.

This new process supports our continued effort to better serve business owners by giving them advanced notice of their assessments before tax bills are mailed in August. This is a slightly different procedure than in previous years when the property tax bill would serve as the first notice of value.

Business owners who disagree with their assessment should submit an appeal within thirty days of the notice date. Once the appeal period expires the value will become final.

For convenience a fillable appeal form is available online at buncombecounty.org/businesslisting, and may be submitted via email atbusinesslisting@buncombecounty.org or by mail to:
