The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office has a new app available in the Google Play and Apple App Store that allows community members to submit crime tips and receive alert notifications directly from the Sheriff’s Office among other features.
This app serves as a new way for the Sheriff’s Office to engage with community members by providing timely alerts and updates to anyone with a smartphone.
In just a few clicks, users can:
-Submit a Tip
-Receive Alerts and Information
-Search for Detainees and Bond Info at the Jail“A key part of 21st Century Policing is using technology and tools to help stay engaged with our community. I am hopeful that this new app will allow the Sheriff’s Office to better update, inform and prepare the people of Buncombe County,” says Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller.
“Sheriff Miller is going where many citizens are spending a lot of their time these days; on their cell phones. This is a proven and a very good way to make ourselves available to the citizens we serve in our community. This initiative bodes well with the ideals of 21st Century Law Enforcement,” says Chief Deputy Herbert Blake
“Over 80 percent of people in the United States own and use smartphones as their primary means of communication,” says OCV Vice President Kevin Cummings, who developed the app.
