News release from Asheville Police Department:
The Asheville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons who set two marked APD vehicles on fire early Aug. 14.
The Asheville Fire Department responded to a parking lot near the 30 block of Lynndale Ave. in West Asheville in the early morning of Aug. 14 to extinguish two police cars that had been set on fire. The unoccupied vehicles were completely destroyed.
APD investigators are continuing to work with the Asheville Fire Marshal’s Office to determine what happened and find those responsible.
Detectives are asking anyone who has any information about this case or knows the identity of the person(s) responsible to please contact APD at (828) 252-1110.
