Press release from Asheville Police Department:
Asheville, NC (June 7, 2024): Asheville Police Detectives arrested three felons on drug charges during proactive enforcement on Thursday afternoon.
While conducting proactive enforcement, detectives made contact with Darion Armon Smith (09/10/1999), who was wanted for Federal Probation Violations and taken into custody near the 100 block of Atkinson Street around 3:44 p.m. on June 6th.
At the same time, detectives apprehended Otis Anthony Edgerton Jr. (09/10/96), who was wanted on a federal indictment for Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Ronald Winslow Mackey Jr. (09/19/1979), who was found to be in possession of drugs. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Smith was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to a Federal Probation Violation.

Edgerton was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to Federal Indictment.
Ronald Winslow Mackey Jr. (9/19/1979)
-Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule I
-Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Controlled Substance within 1,000ft of a School
Mackey was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
