Upcoming City Council public hearings for July 23

The following are public hearings scheduled for the next formal meeting – July 23.   This listing is for information only and is subject to change.  Please call City Clerk Maggie Burleson at 259-5601 if you have any questions.

The July 23 formal meeting of City Council will be held in the Banquet Hall at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville, located at 87 Haywood Street, Asheville, N.C.

1.  Public hearing to consider the adoption of an ordinance designating the property known as the Woolworth Building, located at 25 Haywood Street, as a local historic landmark.

2.  Public hearing to consider adoption of a (1) resolution authorizing the submittal of the 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grants and HOME Investment Partnerships Program to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; (2) budget amendment in the amount of $1,003,034 to adopt the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Community Development Block Grant Fund budget; and (3) budget amendment in the amount of $1,011,026 to adopt the HOME Investment Partnerships Program Fund budget.

3.  General Obligation Bond(s)

1.A. Public hearing on Bond Order authorizing the issuance of
$20,000,000 General Obligation Housing Bonds of the City of
Asheville, N.C.
1.B. Adoption of Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Housing Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C. without change or amendment and direct the Clerk to publish a notice of adoption.

2.A. Public hearing on Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Transportation Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C.
2. B. Adoption of Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Transportation Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C. without change or amendment and direct the Clerk to publish a
notice of adoption.

3.A. Public hearing on Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Parks and Recreation Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C.
3. B. Adoption of Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Parks and Recreation Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C. without change or amendment and direct the Clerk to publish a notice of adoption.

4.A. Public hearing on Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Public Safety Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C.
4. B. Adoption of Bond Order authorizing the issuance of $20,000,000 General Obligation Public Safety Bonds of the City of Asheville, N.C. without change or amendment and direct the Clerk to publish a
notice of adoption.

5. Resolution setting a Special Bond Referendum and directing the publication of Notice of a Special Bond Referendum and Notification of the Buncombe County Board of Elections.

4. Public hearing to consider conditional zoning of 767 New Haw Creek Rd from RS-4 Single-Family Medium Density to Residential Expansion – Conditional Zone for the purpose of building 95 new single-family housing units.
