Are you interested in earning money while supporting the democratic process? Buncombe County Election Services is looking for poll workers for the 2024 General Election. It’s a rewarding way to serve our community while supplementing your income. If this sounds interesting, join us for an upcoming in-person information session to learn more about the perks of working the polls, eligibility requirements, time commitment, pay rates, and more. These information sessions are optional and not required to become a poll worker.
Upcoming poll worker information sessions
- When: Wednesday, July 17 or Thursday, Aug. 15
- Time: Noon

Representation from both the Democrat and Republican parties is an important part of the process and is statutorily required. While the Constitution Party and other parties are now recognized by the state, representation is statutorily required only for the two parties with the largest memberships.
“Our poll workers are the backbone of safe and fair elections,” said Election Services Director Corinne Duncan. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to offer our Buncombe County voters the best experience at the polls, regardless of if they vote early or on Election Day.”
