APD seeks assistance finding man charged with ethnic intimidation following West Asheville Library incident

News release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville Police Detectives have identified and charged another man with ethnic intimidation following an assault at the West Asheville Library on June 29. 

Detectives charged Tyler Byrne Hackett Kelly (10/20/1990) with Ethnic Intimidation specifically for his actions on June 29th at the West Asheville Library. 

Kelly is described as a white male, 33 years old, 5’11”, with red hair and blue eyes. He is known to frequent the Haywood Road area of West Asheville.

Detectives continue to investigate and ask for the public’s help in identifying unidentified persons of interest and locating Kelly.

    hmm, so is ‘Ethnic Intimidation’ same as, or equal to a ‘Hate Crime’ ?
