Asheville Rock returns!

Want to talk about the Asheville rock scene? Check out the newly revamped AshevilleRock.com. The locally focused music message board was once the home of some of the most spirited discussions about all things loud, angry and arranged around a chord progression, but has been semi-dormant since late 2004. Founder (and ex-local rocker with A Kiss Before Dying) Sean Stevens decided to update the site as part of his graduate studies program at the University of Southern California, and the whole thing has a stripped-down and fresh feel about it.

And just in case you were worried that the new version of AshevilleRock.com might get a little boring, check out their soon-to-be-controversial wiki section. With Asheville’s history of music-sparked “edit wars,” the AshevilleRock.com wiki pages are sure to make for some interesting reading in coming months.

The site is open to the public, but registration is required to post to the message board and the wiki. Expect to hear plenty more about it in coming weeks, as a growing number of heavy and hard rock groups have begun a viral/grassroots marketing campaign to bring the relaunch to the attention of the local music scene.

It only takes a moment.

Before you comment

The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community. Xpress is committed to offering this platform for all voices, but when the tone of the discussion gets nasty or strays off topic, we believe many people choose not to participate. Xpress editors are determined to moderate comments to ensure a constructive interchange is maintained. All comments judged not to be in keeping with the spirit of civil discourse will be removed and repeat violators will be banned. See here for our terms of service. Thank you for being part of this effort to promote respectful discussion.

  1. I hope there will be articles about young high school aged kids with piercings and hair combed down into one of their eyes. Maybe all of their songs could read like the bad lyrics of a teen aged girl’s diary, also.
