The Mountain Xpress is looking for a few good Ashevilleans who want to appear in a trailer that will screen at the Asheville Film Festival, which takes place Nov. 8-11. Actually, a lot of good Ashevilleans.
Xpress, along with local filmmakers 6;14 Films, will shoot the Xpress promotional trailer, which will be shown before each movie during the festival, on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Show up at 9:45 a.m. sharp in front of our offices (2 Wall St. in downtown Asheville — near the “big iron”) if you want to be a part of the cinematic action. Refreshments will be served (and local-movie history will be made).

Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
Alright, I have agreed to be there, but what an unholy hour you’ve chosen!
More information please…
We can’t have an uncranky Hanke.
