If you’ve been in Asheville a while, chances are you’ve seen Mountain Xpress ad director James Fisher rocking faces off in one of his many bands, including the legendary American Gothic. Catch him tonight with his new band the Blue Dragons at Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain.
Fisher describes the Dragons as a “rock band with a touch of jam that does a few jazz tunes. We mix full electric with some more acoustic sections in the set. Sara [the fabulous and talented lead singer] has a theater and show-tune background and loves to “get in character” for each song. We go from Johnny Cash to Norah Jones to Widespread Panic to originals.”
Plus, it’s at Pisgah Brewing, that super-fun place to hear live music and drink tasty brews. 8 to 10 p.m. tonight (Thursday). And it’s free. Check it, yo.
Having one’s face rocked off must hurt like CRAZY. Ow.
We had a great time playing last night at Pisgah! Don’t know if we rocked any faces off, but I did manage to blow up my amp. What a great scene out there. Blue Dragons play at MoDaddy’s next, Sat. Aug. 15. We’ll be back at Pisgah Dec. 3rd. Thanks for the support!
