It seems fitting that David Gans looks like he could be a member of The Grateful Dead — he’s the host of radio show The Grateful Dead Hour. But he wears a lot of other hats as well. Like his bio notes, “It’s not easy being a multi-hyphenate. But singer-songwriter-guitarist-radio producer/host-author-journalist-record producer-photographer David Gans at least makes it look like loads of fun.”
Gans recently released Desert Wind, Rollin’ River with fellow singer-songwriter Eric Rawlins and is about to head out on a festival tour (including stops at Summer Camp Festival in Ill., Love Fest in the Midwest, Gathering of the Vibes in Conn. and A Bear’s Picnic in Penn.) — but first he plays a number of Western N.C.-based shows.
Catch Gans at:
• The One Stop on Thursday, May 3. There he performs with friends Bobby Miller and Jay Sanders; The Galen Kipar Project also plays. 10 p.m., $5. Xpress will give away a pair of tickets to this show on Wednesday in the noon hour, via Facebook.
• At the French Broad River Festival in Hot Springs on Friday, May 4.
• At Luella’s BBQ with Bobby Miller on Sunday, May 6, 4-6 p.m.
