A-B Tech Culinary Arts Hot Food Team brings the gold at Charlotte competition

From A-B Tech:

Dear Friends and Supporters of A-B Tech,

We would like to wish you a very happy new year!

It is a busy start to the new year here on our campuses. Our students are back, we have new parking lots and sidewalks, and new programs are beginning.
We have just two of many “success stories” to share with you. First, there is a good news story from our Culinary Arts Program, which is part of the broader program of Hospitality Education:
A-B Tech’s Culinary Arts Hot Food Team scored at the Gold level to win the NC State Competition in Charlotte over the weekend. We’re very proud of your continued success! Next up is regional competition in Charleston, SC.
Winning team members are, from left: Alex Harris, Caroline Williams, Kristina Costa, Ruth Solis, Jay O’Hannon and (rear) Daniel Radle. (Special thanks to Chef Matt Tracy for the great photos of the competition! To see more photos, check out the A-B Tech Facebook page.)

We may not have a football team, but we have our Hot Food Team to cheer on as they move to the next level of competition; wish them luck!

And, perhaps you saw this story from our Basic Skills/GED program from the 6:00 news on WLOS: http://www.wlos.com/shared/news/features/top-stories/stories/wlos_new-ged-test-prompts-revamped-curriculum-14728.shtml. Despite big changes to the program, the staff and students are moving forward!
