BLOWING ROCK – Scientists with the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a minor earthquake rattled the Boone and Blowing Rock areas of Watauga County on Sunday evening.
The 2.4-magnitude quake happened at 7:16 p.m., centered about two miles northeast of Blowing Rock, according to the USGS.
