Public meetings hosted by the Independent Monitor for Mission Health System will continue next week in several communities across Western North Carolina. The next two meetings will take place on February 27th for McDowell county, relating to Mission Hospital McDowell, and on February 28th for Mitchell, Avery, and Yancey counties, relating to Blue Ridge Regional Hospital . Details provided below. These follow the initial four community meetings held last fall, for which materials are now available to download on the Independent Monitor’s website.
As Independent Monitor, we advise Dogwood Health Trust on HCA Healthcare’s compliance with the obligations HCA agreed to when it purchased Mission Health System in early 2019. In each of the upcoming community meetings, we will discuss our role, provide an update on HCA’s 15 commitments, and provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and provide comments.

All events are in-person and open to all members of the public. Attendance may be limited by space restrictions, so registration is strongly encouraged and available at the following link. The community meetings will not be held at the respective hospitals, please note below the meeting locations and details. Doors will open 30 minutes before each event.
