APD News Release- APD Arrests Three Drug Trafficking, Seize Handgun and Drugs
Asheville, NC (December 22, 2023): Asheville Police Department Detectives and Officers partnered with State Law Enforcement to arrest three men Tuesday night dealing drugs while following up on community complaints of illegal drug activity in downtown communities.
During the joint investigation, Asa Shaquille Holloway, Tyquan Jahlil Ward, and Tyshawn Tione Boseman were identified as being involved in the sale of illegal drugs. Detectives secured search warrants on Holloway and Boseman’s residences.
During the search of the residences, officers located a large amount of narcotics and a Glock 17 pistol with a full-auto switch kit.

-Glock 17 9mm w/ full auto switch kit
-66.33g of fentanyl
-81.33g of methamphetamine
-195g of marijuana
-15 dosage units of Suboxone
Arrested:
Asa Shaquille Holloway (02/20/1993)
-Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Level II)
-Simple Possession of Schedule VI
Holloway was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility on December 19 under a $50,000 secured bond (or $5,000 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
Tyquan Jahlil Ward (03/18/1998)
-Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Level III)
-Trafficking in Methamphetamine (Level I)
-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II x2
-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule III
-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule VI
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Resisting Arrest
Ward was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (not eligible for release).
Tyshawn Tione Boseman (01/26/1997)
-Possession of Firearm by Felon
-Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Level III)
-Trafficking in Methamphetamine (Level I)
-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II x2
-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule III
-Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule VI
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Boseman was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (not eligible for release).
APD investigators have seized 164 firearms as evidence during Criminal Investigations from Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 21, 2023.
