Press release from Asheville Police Department:
At 9 p.m. on October 26, the Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to Stewart Street in west Asheville after reports of two men shot behind a residence. The officers arrived to find the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening; one had been struck twice, and the other victim once.
Detectives initiated an investigation into the incident immediately, and are continuing their efforts this morning. If anyone has information concerning the incident, they are encouraged to contact the APD at 828-252-1110.
The APD remains committed to addressing acts of gun violence in our community. Since January 1, 2020 the Asheville Police Department has responded to 505 calls for service regarding a gun discharge or individual who has been shot. In addition, 38 individuals have been shot in Asheville during the same time period.
