APD investigating two weekend drive-by shootings

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville, NC (April 9, 20204): Asheville Police are investigating two drive-by shootings over the weekend in which someone shot multiple rounds, damaging unoccupied cars. Thankfully, no one was injured; only property damage has been reported at this time.

In the first incident, officers responded to Pisgah View Apartment complex around 12:15 a.m. on April 7 to investigate reports of gun discharge. When officers arrived, the suspect was no longer on the scene. Officers located two unoccupied vehicles that had been struck by gunfire. While canvassing the area, officers located 24 shell casings. After reviewing surveillance video, officers were able to identify a white Nissan Altima shortly after the gun discharge, leaving the complex.

Later that morning, in the second incident, officers responded to Deaverview Apartment complex around 4:11 a.m. on April 7 to investigate reports of gun discharge. When Officers arrived on the scene, they located an unoccupied vehicle involved in the earlier incident. While canvassing the area, Officers did not locate any property damage. They did locate 11 shell casings.
