News release from Asheville Police Department:
Asheville police are investigating two incidents of gun discharge that occurred on Sunday during the early morning hours. Thankfully, no one was injured in either incident.
The first incident occurred around 1:58 a.m. on May 14. Officers in the area of Church Street and Patton Avenue heard multiple gunshots. Officers completed a walk-through of the area and were unable to locate anyone injured or property damage. While canvassing the area, officers recovered 30 shell casings of different caliber guns.
The second incident occurred around 4:04 a.m. on May 14. Officers responded to the 1060 block of West Chapel Road to investigate a report of property damage from a bullet hole to the inside of a home in the area.
APD Detectives are asking for the public’s help. If anyone has any information about this incident, you are encouraged to contact APD at (828) 252-1110.
