Statement from Asheville Police Department on Thursday, Aug. 31:
Acting on a tip from a citizen who had seen our social media posting; Ms. Kudlek was taken into custody in the parking lot of the Asheville Mall on Wednesday, August 30th at approx. 5:50pm. She was then transported back to Eliada Home and reunited with her parents. She is now receiving the appropriate, professional care she needs. The Asheville Police Department would like to thank everyone involved in her recovery.

On Wednesday, 8/23/2017; Valentina Kudlek, a 17-year-old white female who was staying at Eliada Home in West Asheville, ran from the facility.
Ms. Kudlek is believed to still be in the area, possibly in the vicinity of downtown or in public housing areas in West Asheville.
She is not currently taking her prescribed behavioral medications, and may possibly have a wound/infection to her arm that needs treatment.
