On Friday, July 10, the Asheville Academy of Taekwondo will host a Ninja Night for children ages 4-12 at their location in West Asheville.
The school hosts Ninja Night every other month, an event which provides the children with pizza and ice cream, and includes group games, supervised free play, and the opportunity for the children to win prizes for good behavior. Children do not have to be enrolled in classes at the Asheville Academy of Taekwondo to attend the event, and all parents in the community are invited to bring their kids ages 4-12.
“The kids have a great time interacting with other children their own age and playing games that focus on different aspects of physical development,” says Alexandra Jones, chief instructor of the Asheville Academy of Taekwondo. “At the end of the night the kids are always really excited to tell their parents about the games they played, the prizes they won, and the new friends they made.” Jones and Richard Tener, owner and master instructor of the Taekwondo school, facilitate and supervise the event.
Ninja Night takes place from 6-10 p.m. on Friday night. Parents are invited to drop off their children at the Taekwondo school between 6-6:30 p.m., and pick them up between 9:30-10 p.m. The cost of attendance is $25 per child, which can be paid directly to the school by cash, check, or card. The event will be held at the school’s location at 215 Oak Terrace Road behind the Stone Ridge Tavern.
The Asheville Academy of Taekwondo teaches children ages 6 and up, and holds weekly classes for kids, teens, and adults. The school teaches children and adults based on the five tenets of Taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
