Asheville, N.C. – Nine Asheville civic and non-profit groups are releasing a petition today calling for the Asheville City Council to adopt a set of budget priorities for the upcoming 2024-2025 budget.
The four budget demands include:
1)Pay Asheville City Workers a Living Wage of at least $22.10/hr
2) Fund the Recommendations from the Asheville Reparations Commission
3) Start a City of Asheville Emergency Rental Assistance Program
4) Devote resources to start a Participatory Budgeting processThe Petition on Action Network will be launched this week and can be found at:
