Asheville Police investigating gun discharge

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville, NC (June 21, 2024): Asheville Police are investigating gun discharges that occurred Thursday morning in South Asheville.

While conducting crime prevention, officers responded to reports of a gun discharge in the area of Robinson Avenue and Crest Avenue around 9:33 a.m. on June 20th. While canvassing the area, officers located 5 shell casings. While on scene, officers heard several more gun discharges but could not locate a crime scene or victims near the second location.

Asheville Police is asking for the public’s help with any information regarding this incident. If you have any information, please contact APD at (828) 252-1110. You can also send an anonymous tip using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store), or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.
