Asheville Police seek help locating Asheville Humane Society trailer and suspected thief

Asheville, NC (June 28, 2024): Asheville Police are asking for the public’s help locating a trailer stolen from the Asheville Humane Society and the suspect charged with stealing it.

Following an investigation into the theft of an Asheville Humane Society trailer from the non-profit’s premises on the morning of June 23rd, detectives have identified and charged Joshua Allen Forrest (04/20/1999) with Felony Larceny for the trailer. Forrest also faces charges of Felony Larceny for stealing over $1,500 worth of donated pet supplies and other items found inside the trailer.

Forrest is described as a white male, 25 years old, 5’11”, 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a spiderweb on his forehead. Forrest resides in Clyde and is believed to be driving a red, single-cab Chevy pickup truck that was used in the theft of the trailer.

Detectives ask anyone who knows Forrest’s whereabouts or sees the trailer, please contact APD at (828) 252-1110. You can also submit an anonymous tip using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store) or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.
