Press release from Asheville Regional Airport:
American Airlines (AA) and Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) are growing again! New, daily nonstop service to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) begins May 3, 2019. The route will be offered on the Canadair CR-9, a 76-seat aircraft with dual class service.
“Daily, year-round nonstop service to DFW has been on our airport’s and community’s wish list for many years,” said Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority. “DFW is an international hub that offers excellent connections to the western U.S., as well as Central and Latin American destinations. We were pleased when American offered weekend nonstop service to DFW last summer, and our region really embraced the service. The local travelers’ commitment to use the service helped lead to the extension of DFW to this year-round, daily offering. Daily DFW is a significant route expansion, and is welcome news for our region. I encourage travelers to use it often.”
Nonstop service from AVL to DFW is the third new local route announcement made by American this year. Daily nonstop to Philadelphia and weekend nonstop service to LaGuardia also start in May.
American Airlines now offers nonstop flights from AVL to: Charlotte, Dallas Fort Worth, Philadelphia and LaGuardia. Flights can be booked directly with American at aa.com.
