Press release from Asheville Regional Airport:
Air travelers can now book nonstop flights from Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) on Delta Air Lines to and through Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) for travel starting on or after June 8, 2019. This new seasonal nonstop route will be available Saturdays between June 8 and November 2, 2019, and will be operated on the Canadair CRJ200 50-seat regional aircraft.
“We know that Detroit will be a successful route for Delta ,” said Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority. “We are thrilled that Delta is devoting resources to serve the route on a seasonal basis, and encourage our region’s travelers to book travel to and through Detroit. The Saturday nonstop service is an excellent addition to the connectivity offered by Delta at AVL, and we welcome their growth.”
Delta Air Lines has a long history of providing frequent daily flights to major international hubs from AVL. Delta flies up to eight daily roundtrip flights to and from Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport from AVL, and the Saturday Detroit service will enhance the connectivity options available from Delta.
Delta maintains a significant hub schedule at the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, giving customers a variety of choices and options for easy connections to and from the U.S. Northeast, Midwest, West, in addition to European and Asian destinations.
The flight schedule is planned as follows:
DTW > AVL | Saturdays — 10:30 a.m. > 12:30 p.m.
AVL>DTW | Saturdays — 1:00 p.m. > 3:00 p.m.
