Here’s the press release from the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League:
ASHEVILLE ACTIVISTS CARAVAN TO CHARLOTTE
Tomorrow people from Asheville will caravan to Charlotte for a state hearing on North Carolina’s energy future. Before the caravan departs, a short press conference and photo opportunity will be held in the Westgate Shopping Center at 1:30 pm for Asheville media.
The caravan is being organized by activists opposing expensive and wasteful sources of electric power. They will testify at the NC Utilities Commission public hearing on the 15-year statewide Integrated Resource Plan. The caravan will depart from Asheville’s Earth Fare parking lot in Westgate Shopping Center at 2:00 PM and arrive in Charlotte for a rally before the hearing.
The Utilities Commission Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) Public Hearing will begin at 7:00 pm at the Mecklenberg County Courthouse in downtown Charlotte, NC.
