Applications are now available for the 66th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade, produced by the Asheville Downtown Association (ADA). Held Saturday, November 17, at 11 a.m., this year’s parade theme Silver Bells & Snowflakes honors the 25th anniversary of the Asheville Downtown Association.
Applications for parade entries are available online at www.ashevilledowntown.org and are due by October 1. New this year, applications may be completed online, but will not be processed until entry fee is received.
This year’s parade will have stricter guidelines emphasizing decorated vehicles and entertaining entries. A meeting will be held this summer for participants wishing to gain information on building a float, costuming and decoration resources.
The prize structure will also be revamped to allow for more awards in various categories such as school groups, dance teams and best handmade float. New prize categories will be announced this summer.
