Press release from Barnes & Noble Asheville Mall:
What: The 2016 Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher Contest ran from January 4 until March 1, and gave middle and high school students the exciting opportunity to tell their communities just how much they appreciate their teachers. Students nominated their favorite teacher by writing essays, poems or thank-you letters that shared how their teacher had influenced their life and why they appreciated and admired their teacher. The local winner of the My Favorite Teacher contest who will be honored at Barnes & Noble Asheville Mall is Ali Banchiere from Rainbow Community School, who was nominated by student, Andrew Trichon. Ali will receive a special award acknowledging her achievement and additional recognition and praise from her community. Andrew Trichon who wrote the winning essay or poem will receive a certificate of recognition and also be honored at the ceremony.
Ali works with her students to help them learn in a style that is the most comfortable to them. She goes above and beyond teaching material by helping them develop organizational and time management skills that will help them throughout life. She connects with and cares for her students, and we are pleased to be honoring her as our 2016 My Favorite Teacher Contest winner.
