Canyon Kitchen hosts winemaker Guy Davis

Canyon Kitchen in Lonesome Valley will hold a wine and culinary event hosting Guy Davis, founder and winemaker of Davis Family Vineyards, on June 10. The event will include a reception followed by South American cuisine and wine pairings. Food used will be from Lonesome Valley’s organic community garden and others surrounding western North Carolina. The dinner is $115 per guest, for reservations call (828) 743-7967.

Canyon Kitchen, located in the rustically elegant Jennings Barn at the foot of Cow Rock Canyon in Lonesome Valley, will host Guy Davis, founder and winemaker of Davis Family Vineyards, for a special wine and culinary event. The dinner, highlighting South American cuisine with wine pairings from Davis Family Vineyards, will be held on Wednesday, June 10, starting with a reception from 5:00 – 5:45 and dinner at 5:45.
Executive Chef Adam Hayes and Canyon Kitchen’s culinary team will prepare a traditional South American Feast with churrasco-style lamb and beef, farmer’s market salad with lettuces and vegetables from Canyon Kitchen’s gardens, and roasted vegetables from the gardens.
Guests will marvel at the beautiful surroundings of Lonesome Valley as they enjoy the intimate dinner on the grounds, weather permitting. The dinner is $115 per person, not including gratuity and tax. There are a limited number of reservations available by calling (828) 743-7967.
Davis Family Vineyards, based in the Russian River Valley of Northern California, has received numerous awards and accolades for its wines that are made from sustainably grown grapes. Davis Family Wines that will be served at the dinner are Cuvee Luke, Chardonnay, Starr Ridge Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and Barn D’or Cabernet/Syrah. Guy Davis will interact with guests and discuss the wines and pairings during the event.
The culinary team at Canyon Kitchen uses fresh produce and organic selections from Lonesome Valley’s own community garden and the surrounding area of western N.C. to create extraordinary farm-to-table menus. Dinner is served at Canyon Kitchen on Wednesday through Sunday evenings through late October. Canyon Kitchen will host additional special culinary events and wine dinners throughout the season.
Nestled in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of Cashiers, Canyon Kitchen is located in one of the most beautiful settings in the country, framed by verdant forests and meadows, encircled by thousand-foot granite cliffs. The relaxed setting of Canyon Kitchen is complemented by the detailed craftsmanship of the Barn’s traditional post and beam architecture; large indoor and outdoor stacked, stone fireplaces; massive exposed ceiling beams; unique rope basket light fixtures; and multiple barn doors that line the walls and can be opened to enjoy the cool mountain weather.
