Press release from Asheville Police Department:
Asheville, NC (June 2, 2023): Noah Talon Erwin (06/04/1992), of Charlotte, North Carolina, was charged and arrested on June 1 for the burning of a public building that occurred earlier that morning, in which a group of fires was set to the outside of a City building.
Asheville Fire Department responded during the early morning hours of June 1 to extinguish a group of fires that had been set on the south side of the building where the building’s generator and gas meter were located. Thankfully, the building was unoccupied at the time, and there was minimal property damage.
After further investigation, along with the review of nearby surveillance. Detectives charged Erwin with Burning a Public Building, Injury to Personal Property, and Second Degree Trespassing. Asheville Police Department Officers located and arrested Erwin later that afternoon in the area of Bleachery Boulevard.
Erwin was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $35,000 secured bond (or $3,500 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
